Riga Foodies Learn the Art of Authentic Pizza-Making at a Masterclass with Italian Chef Fabrizio
On Wednesday evening, 24 July, media representatives, opinion leaders and well-known culinary enthusiasts gathered at the capital’s concept restaurant Bocca Buona to enjoy a delicious meal together and take part in an interactive pizza masterclass led by the restaurant’s chef, Fabrizio Righetti. During the evening, every guest had the opportunity to prepare their own special pizza in the restaurant’s open-plan kitchen, following the chef’s recipe steeped in tradition and becoming part of the creative cooking process. At the same time, they learned various valuable tips on Italian cuisine and enjoyed a leisurely meal in the restaurant’s cosy surroundings in one another’s company. The hotel’s new general manager, Gerard Kelly, also joined the participants during the masterclass. He warmly welcomed the guests to the restaurant and took the time to greet each of them during the event.
The Italian concept restaurant Bocca Buona is located on the first floor of the Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemāra hotel. It opened its doors to visitors in 2015, becoming a modern meeting place for families and groups of friends, where they can enjoy authentic Italian meals, antipasti-style snacks, desserts, aromatic coffee and other drinks at long tables in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Since the beginning of this year, the restaurant’s chef has been the charismatic and experienced Italian, Fabrizio Righetti. He has not only revamped and improved the Bocca Buona menu, introducing authentic Italian flavours that are widely enjoyed around the world, but also actively works to maintain the restaurant’s excellent reputation and leads themed pizza masterclasses.
During the recent masterclass, musicians Alex Silvers and The Twins, lifestyle bloggers Brigita Dambe and Jana Medova, glossy magazine Pastaiga Rus editor-in-chief Yelena Vlasova and beauty editor Una Ulme, Titanium magazine editor-in-chief Marina Dianova, L’Officiel fashion editor Dace Krieviņa-Bahmane, Una magazine editor Diāna Lūse, Santa.lv editor-in-chief Sindija Meluškāne, RigaThisWeek editor Rodions Šehovtsovs and a number of other lovers of Italian cuisine enthusiastically followed Chef Fabrizio’s instructions and enjoyed the pizzas they had prepared themselves, complementing them with a variety of snacks and engaging in lively conversation. During the evening, the most attentive guests also won valuable surprise prizes from Bocca Buona by correctly answering the chef’s questions about pizza-making.
“Being part of the Bocca Buona team is a special experience for me—the restaurant’s concept is very modern and fresh, and as a chef of Italian origin, it allows me to feel free and express myself creatively, while also giving guests the opportunity to discover and enjoy authentic Italian food. What I particularly liked about this masterclass was having the chance to meet the participants face to face, see their curiosity and realise that after our meeting they would all go home with various tips and interesting facts about Italy in mind. Italian food is part of who we are, and if you understand Italian food, you will also understand colourful Italians,” comments Fabrizio Righetti, chef at Bocca Buona.
