Applications Open for the “Fulfil Your Dreams!” Contest

From 27 July, popular Instagram model Agnija Grigule and the creators of the clothing brand Ecattus, together with Samsung, are inviting young people from all over Latvia to take part in a contest to fulfil their dreams of working in fashion or clothing design.

With Agnija’s support, one of the winners will learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry and master the art of always looking great in front of the camera, ultimately creating their own photography portfolio. Agnija reveals that she will also teach them how to use social media correctly and effectively in order to reach more and more people.

The other winner will search for their personal style together with Evija and Inga from Ecattus and work on turning sketches into a real, small collection. “Anyone can create their own clothing brand. There are only two conditions: learn by doing and create a draft. The first condition will help you not to be afraid of mistakes, while the second will generate more ideas. But it is a wonderful adventure, and we would gladly experience it again—this time together with one of the young clothing-design enthusiasts,” the creators of Ecattus encourage participants.

To take part, applicants must apply on the Samsung Latvia Facebook profile (www.facebook.com/samsunglv) by 14 August, explaining their motivation for taking the first steps into the world of fashion. Applications may also be submitted by friends and relatives, thereby highlighting an undiscovered talent. Agnija and the Ecattus girls will select the two most determined, outstanding and creative young people, who will develop their talents with them until November.

The aim of Samsung’s “Fulfil Your Dreams!” initiative is to help young people realise their ideas by educating them, teaching various skills and developing their talents. At the beginning of the year, during the initiative’s first stage, with Samsung’s support, Pārslas Kokina and Reinis Berģis fulfilled their dreams of recording and filming a music-video version of Gacho’s song “Mūžam jauns”. “Fulfil Your Dreams!” takes place in all three Baltic states.
