"Herring Culling"

The tour "Herring Culling" takes place in Liepaja, on the Old Port Promenade, where a knowledgeable guide will tell participants about ancient Liepaja, its personalities, ambitions and struggles, work and leisure, romance and the sea breeze. The tour has been running for three years now, and "Herring Culling" has been awarded the "Liepaja Cultural Prize 2020" as one of the most significant and vibrant cultural events in Liepaja, attended by several thousand tourists over two operating seasons. This year, the "Herring Culling" exhibition has been expanded and is located on the Old Port Promenade, along the Liepaja Canal bank – in the ancient red brick warehouse. Historically, "Herring Culling" was a fish sorting warehouse where fish were brought from all over Europe.

The tour is suitable for families with children and lasts approximately an hour. The tour is conducted in Latvian, but arrangements can be made in advance for English and Russian languages.
