“Stipro skrējiens” on 3 May at the Cinevilla film town

Players from Kazakhstan’s Barsy Atyrau basketball team will take part in Stipro skrējiens

This year, the Barsy Atyrau team from sunny Kazakhstan is taking part in Latvia’s Western League–Kurzeme Radio League basketball championship for the first time, and fourteen players, together with their coach, have accepted the challenge of testing their strength in Stipro skrējiens.

The basketball team has been staying at a training camp in Kandava for some time, and their schedule is very demanding, as the Western League championship playoff series begins this weekend. Despite this, fourteen team players have decided to compete in Stipro skrējiens to test themselves and find out how strong they are outside the basketball court as well. They will also be supported by Yevgeny Isakov and Brandon Goods (Brandon Goods).  

“The players from the Barsy Atyrau team readily accepted this challenge when we offered it to them, as it will certainly be very good additional physical activity outdoors outside the championship, as well as a great experience,” acknowledges Western League representative Jānis Bambis.

Stipro skrējiens is a kind of challenge for everyone, so perhaps the participation of the Kazakh athletes will also inspire Latvia’s basketball players to rise to the occasion.

We remind you that Stipro skrējiens will take place this year on 3 May at the Cinevilla film town. Participants can choose to start in the elite or mass category, depending on their level of physical fitness. The course length and the number of obstacles will also differ between these categories.
