An outdoor swimming pool will appear in Stropi this summer
He stressed that the City Council would make every effort to have the promenade ready by the beginning of the summer beach season, so that Stropi could become a more attractive recreational area for city residents.
“The Stropi promenade should become a regular leisure destination both for our residents and for visitors to the city, including holidaymakers from Lithuania,” A. Elksniņš told journalists. “This area will gradually be expanded and supplemented with new features.”
Daugavpils’s budget for this year includes €347,000 for the construction of the promenade’s main section. Funding has also been planned for the installation in the water of pontoon structures for the 25-metre-long outdoor swimming pool and the children’s swimming pool. The installation of children’s playground equipment will also begin in spring.
In view of the complications involving the owners of private property, floating pontoons will be installed, allowing people to move fully along the shoreline. The tender for carrying out the work has already been successfully completed. The asphalting of the Stropi promenade will also be completed in the near future.
