Taxify introduces fixed-fare rides and comfort-category cars in the Baltics
Starting on 3 October, Europe’s leading ride-hailing platform Taxify is offering customers in the Baltic states two major innovations. One of them is the fixed-fare feature, which means that passengers will now know exactly how much their ride along the planned route will cost before requesting a car, while the other new feature introduced in the app is a separate comfort category, allowing passengers to choose cars with an enhanced level of comfort.
The fixed-fare feature replaces the approximate fare range used previously and is already available to every customer in Riga, Daugavpils and Liepāja, where the Taxify app operates. The comfort category, on the other hand, has so far been introduced only in Riga. In addition to greater capacity, a more modern car interior and an excellent driver rating, these vehicles also offer, in response to high customer demand, child seats designed for children aged 4 to 12.
“Taxify users have long appreciated the opportunity to see the approximate cost of a ride before requesting a car. Working on continuous improvements to the app and the quality of our services, and taking passengers’ preferences into account, we have taken another step forward, and our customers can now see the exact fare for their ride even before placing a request. Thus, the app’s new feature helps avoid unexpected expenses and unpleasant surprises. We believe that the new comfort category will also significantly improve the quality of residents’ daily travel,” comments Taxify Product Manager Dmitry Pivovarov.
The fixed fare will be determined according to Taxify’s rates, based on the estimated distance and travel time, as well as the current traffic intensity and demand for cars. Customers will be able to see the final fare in the Taxify app before requesting a car even when demand is high and the fare for the ride increases. Importantly, the fixed fare will remain unchanged until the passenger gets out, unless the customer decides to change the pickup location or destination.
