MEETING WITH WRITER AND JOURNALIST ARNO JUNDZE

On 20 September, a meeting with writer, journalist, host of the programme “Kultūras kods” and Chairman of the Latvian Writers’ Union Arno Jundze took place at the Ilūkste Centre of Culture and Art.

First, A. Jundze met with pupils from Grades 5 and 6 of Ilūkste Raiņa Secondary School. The writer briefly introduced them to his children’s  books, spoke in greater detail about the book “Christopher and the Order of Shadows”, and then answered the many questions asked by the children.

Afterwards, the author met with the upper-secondary students of Ilūkste Raiņa Secondary School and other interested attendees. First, the writer spoke briefly about his 10 published books, but focused primarily on his novel about E. Veidenbaums, published this summer, entitled “I Will Never Die”. This novel was published as part of the series of novels and monographs “ES esmu”. The audience learned many interesting and previously  unknown facts about the poet’s life, which will certainly encourage them to read both this book and  A. Jundze’s other books.
