ONLY FOOD AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS WILL BE SOLD AT TUKUMS MARKET ON SATURDAYS

The Cabinet order declaring a state of emergency from 5 December establishes several restrictions on trading at weekends.

As explained by Didzis Brūklītis, Head of the Competition, Trade and Consumer Rights Division of the Internal Market Department of the Ministry of Economics, market operations are not prohibited on weekends and public holidays. On weekends and public holidays, the sale of food and hygiene products is permitted in the market area and in shops located within the market area.

Taking into account the explanation provided by the Ministry of Economics, food and hygiene products will be available for purchase at Tukums Market on Saturday, 5 December. The number of customers who may be present simultaneously in the market pavilions’ sales areas will be limited. The Municipal Police will supervise order in the market area. We invite market visitors to wear face masks, avoid crowding, maintain a distance of 2 metres, and follow the information and instructions at the entrances to the market area, in the market pavilions, and in the shops located within the market area.
