From now on, Taxify services will also be available in Liepāja

As of 1 August, the Taxify taxi-booking platform will also operate in Liepāja, Latvia’s third-largest city. The decision was made as the company continues its rapid expansion and in response to the population’s growing demand for a fast and convenient means of transport not only in the capital but also in the regions. The app has already been operating successfully in Daugavpils for more than a year, and it is expected that in Liepāja as well it will significantly facilitate the travel habits of city residents and visitors.

From the beginning of the month, licensed taxis operating throughout Liepāja will be available in the app. The Taxify service will not only be convenient to use but will also offer competitive pricing compared with other passenger carriers—the standard boarding fare will be EUR 0.99, the price per kilometre EUR 0.49/km, and waiting time EUR 0.15 per minute. During periods of higher demand, dynamic pricing will apply in the app. Taxify clients in Liepāja will also be offered various introductory promotions. At present, all app users will receive a 25% discount on their first five trips in Liepāja until the end of August.

“The number of Taxify clients in Riga continues to grow every month, and entering other regions of Latvia is simply the logical next step. Liepāja is a dynamic seaside city with significant market potential, where almost 70,000 residents live every day. In addition, during the summer months it attracts numerous tourists each year, not only from other Latvian cities but also from near and far abroad. In view of the existing demand, the number of taxis available through the app will gradually be increased, also by attracting private drivers. We therefore invite anyone interested to join Taxify by completing the application form on the website www.taxify.eu,” comments Kārlis Ķezberis, head of Taxify in Latvia.
