Children’s outdoor attractions may resume operations in the coming days

As the spread of COVID-19 declines and restrictions on gatherings and movement continue to be gradually eased, the Cabinet of Ministers decided at its meeting on 10 June this year that children’s attractions and outdoor amusement parks would become available in the coming days. Once the amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations enter into force, it will be permitted to provide individual services related to outdoor attractions, including at water parks, amusement and attraction centres, and trampoline parks.

Outdoor attraction services may be provided subject to strict epidemiological safety requirements:

  • visitors and employees wear mouth and nose coverings in places with heavy pedestrian traffic where it is not possible to maintain a distance of 2 metres. Children under 7 years of age may refrain from wearing mouth and nose coverings;
  • 70% alcohol-based disinfectants are provided for visitors before and after using equipment/attractions;
  • at least 20m2 of publicly accessible area is provided per person;
  • the number of commonly used surfaces and objects is reduced as far as possible, and surfaces, including equipment and work tools, are regularly cleaned and disinfected after each customer, using 70% alcohol-based hand and surface disinfectants;
  • visitor flows are organised to ensure that distance is maintained between members of different households;
  • a responsible person is designated to organise the implementation of epidemiological safety measures;
  • information on the maximum permitted number of persons, as well as the contact details of the responsible person and the direct police assistance telephone number, 110, is displayed in places visible to visitors.

When providing outdoor attraction services, service providers may arrange payment, the issuing of equipment, sanitary facilities (15m2 per person), and changing rooms (at no more than 25% occupancy) indoors.

To prevent people from gathering at attraction venues for extended periods, a restriction on operating hours has been established: outdoor attraction venues may begin operating no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and must close no later than 10:00 p.m.

The amendments approved by the government to Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 360 of 9 June 2020, “Epidemiological Safety Measures to Limit the Spread of COVID-19 Infection,” can be viewed in detail on the Cabinet of Ministers’ website.
