Over the coming week, vaccination centres will mainly offer vaccination with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines
Over the coming week, vaccination centres will mainly offer residents vaccination with the Pfizer (Comirnaty) and Spikevax (Moderna) vaccines. There is currently no stock of Janssen vaccines in the warehouses; all Janssen vaccines available to date have been delivered to vaccination centres and have virtually all been administered. We invite residents who have chosen to obtain protection against COVID-19 with the Janssen vaccine to contact their vaccination service provider to check whether vaccines from this manufacturer are still available in their stock.
The next delivery of Janssen vaccines—19,000 doses—is expected no earlier than the second half of next week. As soon as these vaccines are delivered, they will be distributed to vaccination service providers in accordance with the requests submitted, and the public will also be promptly informed.
At the same time, we note that the following vaccines are currently available in Latvia to ensure the vaccination process: Comirnaty (Pfizer) —387,960 doses, Spikevax (Moderna) —87,450 doses, and Vaxzervia (Astra Zeneca)—198,750 doses. In accordance with a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, Latvia will donate 165,600 AstraZeneca vaccine doses to five countries.
This week, mobile COVID-19 vaccination will take place in Smiltene, Krāslava, at Rundāle Palace, in Kuldīga, Cēsis, and Auce. Mobile vaccination is available without prior registration, and its organisation involves municipalities, vaccination service providers, and the National Armed Forces.
