At the Balvi Culture and Recreation Center, from July 1 to August 27, the STUDENT CREATIVE WORK EXHIBITION of the Balvi region
DEDICATION TO THE XIII SCHOOL YOUTH SONG AND DANCE FESTIVAL will be on display.

In the exhibition, you can view the majority of the creative works by students from the Balvi region, submitted for the visual and visual-plastic arts project “Shining”.

The message of the exhibition is that we are invited to shine and emit light and joy, warmth and love. We shine by doing good deeds, we shine when the work is completed and we can be proud of it. We shine by sharing joy with you. We shine, proud of our school, village, town, region. We shine because we live in Latvia.
Thank you to all the students and teachers who participated in the creation of the works!

The coordinator of the cultural and self-expression arts (visual arts) education field in the Balvi region, Indra Keiša, explained that in the past academic year, in anticipation of the XIII Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival, a visual and visual-plastic arts project “Shining” was organized in the country, aimed at promoting the creative activity and participation of children and youth in the Song and Dance Festival process.

Young artists from the Balvi region from 9 general education schools submitted more than 100 creative works for the 1st selection round competition “Festival Shining.” The competition included both drawings and works using wood, textiles, metal, cardboard, and other materials.
The evaluators were thrilled by the high quality of the works and the creativity of the students.

The best creative works participated in the 2nd round of the competition. The region was represented in Rēzekne by 25 student works, achieving 5 highest grades and the opportunity to represent the Balvi region in Riga. These included Martins Puks from Balvi Elementary School (teacher Aldis Voits), Egija Ļvova and Arta Vīksna from Baltinava High School (teacher Indra Keiša), the group from Eglaine Primary School - Tīna Leone, Līga Tūmiņa, Oskars Sideļņiks (teacher Antra Kikuste), and Viktorija Maderniece from Bērzpils Primary School (teacher Jolanta Dundeniece). These works are exhibited in the visual and visual-plastic arts exhibition "Shining" at the VEF Culture Palace in Riga from May 27 to July 12.
