FESTIVE DECORATIONS WILL BE LIT UP IN VENTSPILS AND A MUSICAL LITTLE TRAIN WILL TAKE TO THE STREETS

On the evening of Saturday, 28 November, colourful festive decorations will light up the streets of Ventspils. The city’s main Christmas tree in the Great Square will be the first to be lit. To create a cheerful atmosphere and delight residents during the run-up to Christmas, after the tree-lighting, an illuminated musical festive train will travel through the streets of Ventspils until 8 p.m. Santa Claus himself and his helpers—the elves—will be riding on it, bringing along lively and familiar winter songs.

The train will begin its musical adventure from the Great Square. It will travel along the main streets and through residential areas on both banks of the Venta—on the city side as well as in Pārventa.

Due to the restrictions on gatherings and safety requirements currently in force in the country, the customary Christmas tree-lighting event will not be held this year. Therefore, residents and visitors to Ventspils are invited to take a walk through the decorated city, enjoying the specially prepared festive decorations and experiencing culture in a different way than usual.
