Ventspils Digital Centre Invites Classes to Take Part in a Different Kind of School Trip — “Attālītis”

As the 2020/2021 school year draws to a close, Ventspils Digital Centre has prepared an offer for classes, inviting them to take part in a different kind of school trip — “Attālītis”. A total of 9 different remote technology workshops on a variety of topics are available, giving students the opportunity both to learn new programs and to work creatively and entertainingly, ultimately producing both a digital and a tangible result

There are also 6 workshops supported by the cultural education programme “Latvian School Bag”.

This school year has certainly been different for everyone, and remote learning has brought new challenges and experiences for students, teachers, and parents alike. Since the learning process has been different, the Digital Centre has made sure that students can also take part in an essential component of school life — a school trip. Classes from all over Latvia have the opportunity to participate in a different kind of school trip — “Attālītis”, which will enable them to take part in remote technology workshops together with the Digital Centre’s instructors.

A total of 9 remote technology workshops are available in 3 different formats:

Option 1: choose a workshop and let’s work together online:

“Create a Game or Animation!” workshop,

Python programming workshop,

Mobile application workshop.

Option 2: choose a workshop, work together online, and receive a tangible result via “Omniva”:

Advertising print workshop,

Thermal printing workshop,

Three-dimensional (3D) workshop.

Option 3: choose a workshop, receive the necessary materials via “Omniva”, and let’s work together online:

Light-emitting diode card workshop,

Binary code bracelet workshop,

Pixel art workshop.

The price of the “Attālītis” school trip is from EUR 6 to EUR 12 per student, excluding “Omniva” delivery costs. The workshop lasts from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the type of workshop. Workshop descriptions and more information about registration are available here: www.adre.se/attalitis.

Students can participate in the workshops while at their school together with a teacher, or while each student is at home.

In accordance with the principles of the “Latvian School Bag” programme, Ventspils Digital Centre has also prepared 6 additional technology workshops in which it is possible to participate with financial support from the programme.
