Ventspils Municipality to Begin Accepting Applications for Mother’s Day Benefit

As Mother’s Day approaches, Ventspils Municipality invites low-income and financially disadvantaged large families to apply for the one-time Mother’s Day benefit.

The Mother’s Day benefit is available to low-income and financially disadvantaged large families declared as residing in Ventspils that are raising three or more minor children, including children placed in foster families and children under guardianship.

The Ventspils City Social Service will begin accepting applications on 26 April and will continue to do so until 28 May. Application forms are available at the entrances to the Social Service at 10 Raiņa Street and 39 Talsu Street, on the website https://labklajiba.ventspils.lv and on the municipality’s portal https://www.ventspils.lv. Completed applications may be placed in the mailboxes located at the entrances to the Social Service, sent by email to socdienests@ventspils.lv as an electronic document signed with a secure electronic signature, or sent by post to the Social Service.

The Mother’s Day benefit, in the amount of EUR 15.00 for each minor child, may be received in the bank account specified in the applicant’s application.

Payment of the Mother’s Day benefit into the specified bank accounts will begin on 6 May.

Ventspils Municipality has allocated more than EUR 4,000 for the Mother’s Day benefit. It is expected that the benefit will be received for 269 children.
