Herb Market 2024

Latvia especially celebrates the shortest night of the year - Līgo festival, where homes are adorned with leafy wreaths, tables are set with beer and the special Jāņi cheese, and throughout the night, people sing Jāņi songs, dance in circles, and greet the sunrise around bonfires. To prepare for these splendid festivities, before them, the Herb Market takes place at Doma Square - eyes delight in grand bouquets of flowers and floral garlands, the air is filled with the scent of dried meat and smoked fish, hostesses from all regions of Latvia offer their most delicious cheeses. Festive revelry and lively trading all day long!

In the heart of Old Riga, at Doma Square, one can immerse in the true spirit of the Līgo festival all day long. Farmers and craftsmen from all over Latvia will offer their products on long tables and in market stalls. Bright linen clothes and aprons, hats and blouses adorned with lace, amber jewelry, and wooden spoons - everything needed for the Līgo celebration!
