Getliņi Tomato and Cucumber Festival 2025!

Getliņi wishes to joyfully kick off the new harvest season across Latvia and conclude their harvest season, which began last August. We at Getliņi have been convinced for over 10 years that the people of Latvia are true tomato and cucumber lovers! In honor of this, the Getliņi Tomato and Cucumber Festival will take place on May 17th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to peek into the greenhouse, take a bus tour around the landfill site, and climb the waste hill. At the event, one can enjoy culinary masterpieces featuring tomatoes and cucumbers prepared by Chef Mārtiņš Sirmais, as well as test their knowledge in exciting quizzes and win prizes.

During the festival, there will be several challenges where visitors can test their skills—holding a box of tomatoes, tomato relay races, vegetable preparation, and vegetable cutting.

The well-being of visitors will be attended to by event host Kristians Kareļins, DJ Party Hardy, and the band “Gapoljeri”.

Event Program:
12:00 PM – Festival Opening
12:30 PM – Culinary Masterclass by Chef Mārtiņš Sirmais
2:00 PM – Concert by the band “Gapoljeri”
3:00 PM – Tomato and Cucumber Challenges
4:00 PM – Festival Conclusion

Entrance to the festival is free.  

Throughout the festival, there will be the opportunity to take a bus tour around the landfill site, climb the waste hill, peek into the greenhouse, and get acquainted with the heavy machinery at the landfill. During the event, the Getliņi tomato and cucumber shop will be open, where tomatoes and cucumbers can be purchased.
