Memorial for the Daugavpils Ghetto and Jewish Genocide Victims Add an Object
In 1991, the Memorial for the Daugavpils Ghetto and Jewish Genocide Victims (designed by O. Marinoha) was unveiled in the Poguļanka Forest in Daugavpils. The idea was conceived by Anatolijs Fišiļs. The centerpiece of the memorial is a memorial stone made of fieldstone, with a stylized Star of David on its surface and a small granite plaque at the base with the inscription 'Daugavpils' and the number 3000. On both sides of the memorial, there are stone pillars symbolizing the remembrance of Holocaust victims from various European countries. They feature a Star of David, the name of the country, and the number of victims.
