Adam Tománek: Analysis of Urgent Transformation
Opening: April 18th, 19:00
Adam Tománek is Czech visual artist and studying on an internship, at the Art Academy of Latvia in Riga. He works mostly with images, installations and videos. The exhibition is focused on nowadays problems of containers logistic. Are huge containers necessity in todays capitalistic logistics? Is there some kind of pervert logic behind this? Can they be misused for interventions in third world economics? Idea of A. Tománek is simple: shipping containers are corrupted units, agents of capitalist transports from rich countries to places affected with poverty and wars. Those places ended up without industry, there is no use for workforce. Just never-ending cycle of import of containers with goods.
The exhibition shows author's existential thinking about this topic.
